Welcome to the International Association For Resilience & Trauma Counseling (IARTC) website, located at https://iartc.org/ (the “Site”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Site and all services, content, and products available at or through the Site.
Please read these Terms carefully before accessing or using the Site. By accessing or using any part of the Site, you agree to become bound by the terms and conditions of this agreement. 1. Acceptance of Terms
The International Association For Resilience & Trauma Counseling (“IARTC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) offers the Site subject to your acceptance without modification of all of the terms and conditions contained herein and all other operating rules, policies (including, without limitation, IARTC’s Privacy Policy), and procedures that may be published from time to time by IARTC.
2. Services and Membership
A. Membership
- Application and Renewal: Membership in IARTC is subject to the application and renewal policies as detailed on the Site or through the American Counseling Association (ACA).
- Fees: All membership fees, event registration fees, and other charges are set by IARTC and are non-refundable unless otherwise expressly stated in a separate Refund/Cancellation Policy.
- Termination: IARTC reserves the right to suspend or terminate your membership and access to member-only sections of the Site or services at any time, without notice, if you breach these Terms or for any conduct that IARTC, in its sole discretion, believes is harmful to the interests of IARTC or its members.
B. Content and Learning Opportunities
IARTC provides access to journals, newsletters, webinars, and resources related to resilience and trauma counseling. All content is provided for informational and educational purposes only.
3. Disclaimers and Professional Responsibility
- No Professional Advice: The content provided on the Site, including articles, resources, and webinar discussions, is not intended as a substitute for professional counseling, mental health assessment, legal advice, or medical advice.
- User Responsibility: You acknowledge and agree that any reliance on any information provided on the Site is solely at your own risk. IARTC is not responsible for any decision made or action taken based on reliance on the information contained on the Site.
- Ethical Practice: As a professional organization, IARTC expects all members and users to adhere to the highest ethical standards of their respective professions, including the ACA Code of Ethics.
4. Intellectual Property Rights
A. IARTC Content
The Site, its original content, features, and functionality (including text, graphics, logos, data, and software) are owned by IARTC and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.
- You may not reproduce, redistribute, sell, or use any content from the Site without the express written permission of IARTC.
- Journal Access: Access to the IARTC Journal (or other publications) is for personal, non-commercial, professional use only. Unauthorized sharing, downloading, or distribution of journal articles is strictly prohibited.
B. User-Generated Content
If the Site allows you to post content (e.g., comments, forum posts, submissions), you grant IARTC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, and display such content in connection with the operation of the Site and IARTC’s business. You represent and warrant that you own or control all rights to the content you post.
5. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to use the Site to:
- Violate any applicable national, state, local, or international law or regulation.
- Impersonate or attempt to impersonate IARTC, an IARTC employee, or any other user.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., ACA, LinkedIn, Facebook, sponsor sites). These links are provided solely as a convenience to you. IARTC has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites. Your use of third-party websites is at your own risk.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL IARTC, NOR ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES, BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (I) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SITE; (II) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SITE; (III) ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SITE; AND (IV) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.
8. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
9. Changes to Terms
IARTC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days’ notice prior to any new terms taking effect. By continuing to access or use our Site after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
