International Association For Resilience & Trauma Counseling (IARTC)
Commitment Date: December 15, 2025
1. Our Commitment
The International Association For Resilience & Trauma Counseling (IARTC) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continuously improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
We believe that all visitors should be able to navigate and interact with our website, https://iartc.org/ (the “Site”), regardless of technology or ability.
2. Status of Compliance
We aim to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities.
Our efforts to achieve WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance include:
- Keyboard Navigation: Ensuring all interactive elements (links, forms, buttons) can be accessed and operated using only a keyboard.
- Screen Reader Compatibility: Providing descriptive alternative text for non-text elements (images, charts) and ensuring correct structural markup (headings, lists) for reliable screen reader interpretation.
- Color Contrast: Maintaining sufficient color contrast between text and background elements.
- Resizable Text: Ensuring text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Form Accessibility: Ensuring all form fields have clear, associated labels.
3. Measures Taken to Support Accessibility
IARTC takes the following steps to ensure the accessibility of its Site:
- Internal Testing: We conduct regular reviews using automated accessibility checking tools and manual testing.
- Design Standards: Accessibility is integrated into the design and development processes for new content and site features.
- Training: Our content creation and management staff are trained on accessibility best practices.
- Third-Party Content: We strive to select third-party tools and plugins (e.g., webinar platforms, membership portals) that are also WCAG compliant.
4. Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, there may be certain limitations. Please be aware that, due to the volume and nature of some content, we might have the following issues:
- Older PDFs: Some legacy documents (e.g., historical meeting minutes or older journal articles) may not be fully optimized for screen reader use. We are working to either update these files or provide accessible alternatives upon request.
- Embedded Third-Party Content: While we choose accessible partners, content originating from external social media feeds or embedded videos may occasionally present challenges outside of our direct control.
5. Feedback and Reporting Issues
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the IARTC Site. If you encounter any accessibility barriers while using our website, please contact us. We are committed to responding promptly and making reasonable accommodations where possible.
